Telehealth has changed the face of treatment.
I’ve embraced it. My clients have too.
Telehealth: Different Setting, Same Quality Outcomes
While the COVID-19 pandemic is the reason I began to provide telehealth sessions, it is something I will continue to offer indefinitely. That’s because it has proven to be an effective way to deliver the high-quality treatments my clients are used to even though we aren’t in the same room. Telehealth also offers a level of convenience that in-person sessions often cannot. Many clients have shared that it reduces the stress of commuting, finding childcare, or rearranging work schedules, which makes it easier for them to consistently attend sessions. Over time, this consistency often strengthens progress and helps clients stay engaged in the therapeutic process.
Telehealth also allows for creative and flexible approaches to therapy, such as incorporating digital tools, worksheets, and real-time exercises that can be used directly in the home environment. This flexibility helps clients practice skills in the very setting where they are most needed, bridging the gap between what happens in therapy and how those skills are applied in everyday life. Families can practice strategies together in real time, and teens can use interactive tools that resonate with their comfort in digital spaces. Many clients find that this approach makes sessions more dynamic, engaging, and personally relevant.
Rest assured, all telehealth sessions are delivered on a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform designed to protect your privacy. Whether you are looking for greater flexibility, consistency in care, or simply the convenience of attending therapy sessions from home, telehealth can be a highly effective option that promotes meaningful change and equips clients with tools for lasting success.
Although telehealth may not be perfect for everyone, I encourage you to contact me so I can share more about the process and help you decide whether it might be a good fit for you or your child. Together, we can determine the approach that best supports your goals.
A few things you will need for an effective telehealth session:
Physical location in Maryland or a participating PSYPACT state
A private space
A strong and secure Internet connection
An electronic device
Earbuds or headphones
Paper and writing utensils for note taking, list making and/or drawing
I am licensed to practice psychology in Maryland and have Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT) granted by the PSYPACT Commission which allows me to conduct psychotherapy with clients via telepsychology when they are physically located in a participating PSYPACT state.
